Origin: Train Wreck is one of those marijuana strains that make you come back for more each and every time. This Sativa-dominant hybrid offers a strong spicy taste that blends perfectly with the sweet and pungent smells of its buds. Known to originate from Spain, the Trainwreck has been around for quite some time now. Although it still hasn’t cemented itself as one of the world’s legendary marijuana strains, it is definitely on its way. The Trainwreck comes from Original Cali Train Wreck as a parent strain mixed with Afghani, Thai, and Mexican landrace strains.
Flowering Time: The flowering time for Trainwreck can take about eight to nine weeks. While it grows fairly tall because of its Sativa traits, the Indica properties mixed into it can cause the buds to grow quite dense and closely packed. Trainwreck offers a high yield regardless of where it is grown. Harvests can reach up to 700 grams per cannabis plant. The bushy structure of the plant also compliments the colorful and shining buds that it produces. One of the main traits of the Trainwreck is the pungent and sweet aroma that its buds impart when it fully matures.
Medical Properties: Trainwreck isn’t exactly what you would call a “medical strain” as most people consume it purely for its recreational effects. However, marijuana users have reported that it works great in treating migraines and nausea which are caused by numerous factors including stress. It is also known to reduce levels of dizziness and vomiting.
THC and CBD Percentage: When someone hears the name “Trainwreck”, the first thing that would come to mind is a hard-hitting, knockout punch provided by this strain. However, this isn’t entirely true. Trainwreck’s THC level has been measured at an average level of 16%. As you can see, it isn’t the highest or the lowest among cannabis strains. It is a moderate level of THC that is enough to provide a relaxing cannabis experience. CBD levels of this strain are also unsurprising. It measures at around 0.5%.
Common Effects: The Trainwreck is a great blend of both Sativa and Indica characteristics. A few hits into the strain and you will start experiencing a cottonmouth and dry eyes. Soon afterward, you are met with a fairly strong feeling of couch-lock coupled with some cerebral and euphoric effects from its Sativa influences. This is then followed by long hours of relaxation that takes you on a trip of your own uplifting thoughts.
